Mike Weaver

Mike Weaver, Head Instructor, Woburn

A son of Wakefield, MA, Mike started playing hockey in Wakefield at around age four -- playing town hockey, as well as club hockey with the Middlesex Islanders and the Boston Jr. Bruins. In 2011, it was Mike’s double OT goal that resulted in the Jr. Bruins winning USA Hockey’s Junior National Championship title.

Several schools have benefited from Mike’s hockey prowess as well. Mike left Wakefield in 7th grade to attend and play for Cardigan Mountain School in New Hampshire, and he played high school hockey at both Cardigan Mountain and Northwood Prep, in Lake Placid, NY, before returning to Wakefield to play for and finish his high school career at his hometown high school. Upon graduation Mike played two years for Nichols College in Dudley, MA.

At each of these stops, Mike has brought his killer shot, which he started developing at Shoot to Score at the age of thirteen.

“Shoot to Score made me a better shooter -- more efficient, more controlled, quicker . . . And the instruction doesn’t just prepare you for that first shot, it prepares you, too, for the second shot, and the third. Teaching at Shoot to Score allows me to bring to other skaters the same instruction that I received -- instruction that has allowed me to contribute so successfully to each team throughout my hockey career. I want the skaters I teach to have that same reward.” -- Mike
